It’s an old adage but a goody; time flies when you’re having fun. It is certainly appropriate for this New Zealand summer. I have had a blast in New Zealand and my home town of Christchurch and have plenty of people to thank for making this season so successful. But first I want to congratulate all of you, yes YOU, all of the swimmers and triathletes out there, whether you are beginner, elite or somewhere in the middle. Thanks for making the sport of swimming such a great fun social challenging awesome activity. Well done to all the newcomers to open water swimming and triathlon. You are can all consider yourselves part of ‘the club’, you now have an appreciation of the unique challenges and skills required to become a successful open water swimmer.
Special thanks to blueseventywww.blueseventy.co.nz for supporting open water swimming and triathlon with nothing but the best advice and gear, especially wetsuits! Keep an eye out for my upcoming blog as I compare my Ocean Swim results wearing a blueseventy Nero swim suit versus the blueseventy 2012 Helix wetsuit.
Ocean Swim Series; such a well organised open water swim series set in some of New Zealand most beautiful locations. www.oceanswim.co.nz I had the pleasure of swimming the Le Grande and will be swiming the King of the Bays this year. I only wish I could have done more of their awesome swim series.
Aquagym www.aquagym.co.nz I have been proud to be associated with Aquagym since they opened in 1988. Run by former Olympic swimmer and Olympic coach, Master Coach Brett Naylor, his super talented wife Colleen and an amazingly knowledgeable and energetic team. You won’t find a more friendly welcome; this is where I choose to do my pool swimming. Swim training is so much more fun in a group.
Paul Kelly Motor Company www.paulkelly.co.nz. Thank you for the terrific loan of a vehicle enabling me to get to all the swim events this summer. The car ran like a dream all summer long. PKMC are committed to supporting the community and providing great value cars.
