Fit&Abel heads to the Greek Islands!
I am very excited to be teaming up with SwimTrek www.SwimTrek.com for the month of July, I will be guiding their Greek Cyclades tour over the next four weeks.
For those who have been following my FitandAbel.com blogs you will have seen my passion for swimming runs deep. My swimming background was primarily pool based for many years. I still love the challenge and the speed of pool based competitions however, that black line on the bottom of the pool can get pretty tedious after 20, 40, 80, 120 laps and it is always great to swim in different locations, away from the line on the bottom and the chlorine. In recent times this has meant a swim outing around Burgh Island, a relay swim across the English Channel and lots of surfing. These have all been terrific ways to enjoy my swimming skills while avoiding the black line on the bottom of the pool.
It was almost by chance that I came upon SwimTrek; I was immediately stimulated by what they offer – tailored packaged swim tours in some of the most fabulous locations in the world! What a great way to extend out beyond the pool. This type of swim adventure is suitable for all swimmers from experts and competitors to new comers or those not interested in the competitive aspect of swimming. It is simply a great way to get out and explore using one of the most challenging and fun forms of locomotion – swimming.
The SwimTrek team founder Simon Murie and his team have been extremely welcoming, friendly, professional and most important of all totally passionate about swimming. I cannot wait to bring my 30 years of swimming skills to this wonderful niche swimming Adventure Company in the superb location that is the Greek Islands. I will update you throughout the month to help keep you envious of my location and the swim adventures. This may motivate you to develop your open water swimming skills and perhaps you may want to book your swimming adventure through www.SwimTrek.com
Of course the drawback of me spending a month in the Greek Islands does mean my services will be unavailable in London throughout July. For most of my regular customers I have already been in contact with you – you know I am only a phone call or e-mail away for help and advice with your swimming as you work toward your respective goals. For those who are taking a keen interest in swimming this summer, who have a triathlon coming up or who want help with technique or fitness I will be available and London based again from 1 August, you can book your August sessions with me throughout July via e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
Meanwhile look out for some open water blogging from Greece as well as some more indepth goggle reviews. Happy swimming! Dan
